Fans of The Boys have a lot to look forward to with the upcoming prequel series, Vought Rising, which is set to dive deeper into the twisted world of superheroes. Amazon Prime officially announced the series during a Comic-Con panel, confirming that Jensen Ackles will return as the ruthless Soldier Boy, along with Aya Cash reprising her role as Stormfront, aka Clara Vought.
Set in the 1950s, Vought Rising explores the early days of Vought International, the sinister corporation that later became infamous in The Boys universe. What makes this prequel especially intriguing is how it will trace the company’s origins and the rise of Supes like Soldier Boy, who was the first successful American superhero created using Compound V, and Stormfront, a Nazi-era Supe who played a key role in Vought’s early schemes. It’s not just about their powers, though—this series will also showcase the political manipulation and corporate ambition that laid the foundation for the events in The Boys. Expect a pulpy, grisly saga, filled with violence, betrayal, and plenty of blood.
The show is being developed by The Boys creator Eric Kripke, with Paul Grellong stepping in as showrunner. Given the graphic, no-holds-barred style of its predecessors, Vought Rising is set to continue that legacy of dark satire and brutal action. Ackles’ Soldier Boy, known for his jingoistic attitude and volatile nature, will likely take center stage, with the show delving into his origins as America’s first superhero. His relationship with Vought, and his connection to later figures like Homelander, will be crucial threads that tie into the main series.
Though there’s no confirmed release date yet, fans are eagerly speculating about when Vought Rising will drop. With Gen V already continuing the expansion of The Boys universe and The Boys final season on the horizon, it’s possible we’ll see Vought Rising somewhere between 2025 and 2027. One thing is clear: the chaotic, blood-soaked world of The Boys is far from over, and with Ackles and Cash leading the charge, we’re in for a wild ride.
