Star Trek: Discovery Renewed for Season 3

The CBS All-Access original series has gotten an early renewal for season 3…and a co-showrunner.

Season 2 has been met by far better fan reaction than the first outing of the series set 10 years before the original Star Trek. Showrunner Alex Kurtzman has stated co-executive producer Michelle Paradise who joined the series in season 2, is a big reason why.

“Her grasp of character and story detail, her drive and her focus have already become essential in ensuring the ‘Trek’ legacy, and her fresh perspective always keeps us looking forward.”

— Alex Kurtzman

Paradise will be promoted to co-showrunner for season 3, partially to allow Kurtzman to devote more time to the new, highly anticipated, Picard series in the works.

While the JJ Abrams movie series may be stalled, between Discovery, the Picard limited series, an animated Nickelodeon series, and perhaps the Quentin Tarantino-directed movie, there is no end of Star Trek on the horizon.
