Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Ah, the thrill of uttering those words three times – like opening a quirky, cobweb-covered doorway to the supernatural, thanks to Tim Burton’s iconic 1988 flick. Michael Keaton, our lovable rogue of a bio-exorcist, thrilled us with his wild antics, right? Now, fasten your seatbelts because our much-loved Burton and Keaton are revving up for a long-awaited sequel. And guess what? Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, and the fresh-face Jenna Ortega are tagging along for this spooky ride!
But, hold onto your vintage popcorn buckets, folks! There’s a bit of a hiccup – or maybe we should say a ‘hic-creep’. 🍿👀 The Beetlejuice 2 set, nestled in the green folds of Vermont, has had some uninvited guests. According to our friends at IGN, some sneaky thieves have run off with a few props, including a certain insectoid statue you might remember from the first movie. You know, the one nearly responsible for renovating the Deetz’s new house into rubble when the movers got a little clumsy. And, of course, who can forget when Beetlejuice turned it into a Delia-restraining device? Spooky, right?
Even the Vermont State Police had some fun when they reported it on Twitter:

Now, the return of Delia’s oddball Beetlejuice art in the sequel isn’t much of a shocker. The creators have promised us a return to the glory of the original, replete with our beloved stars Keaton, Ryder, and O’Hara. And they’re staying true to the roots, as Keaton spilled in a recent interview. Remember the handmade, delightfully quirky effects that made us all fall in love with the original Beetlejuice? Burton is ditching the CGI and going old school, much to the joy of us nostalgia lovers.
Let’s hope this sticky-fingered incident won’t put a damper on the movie-making magic. We’ve got our fingers (and ghostly appendages) crossed!
