Lance Reddick and Toby Stephens join Disney’s Percy Jackson Series

Reddick (left) has been cast as Zeus, King of the Olympian Gods, with Stephens (right) as Poseidon, the father of Percy Jackson (played by Walker Scobell center). Reddick previously had roles in John Wick, Godzilla vs Kong, The Wire, Bosch, and the Resident Evil Netflix series. Stephens most recently played John Robinson in Netflix’s Lost in Space series as well as having played Captain Flint in Black Sails.

The upcoming Disney+ series is the latest incarnation for fans of the Rick Riordan Percy Jackson novels and Disney has promised a more faithful adaptation of the book series than seen in the 2010 and 2013 movies. Riordan actually has input into the series which is something he did not have in the film adaptations.

“This is great news, obviously, and we couldn’t have done it without the enthusiasm and support of millions of Percy fans making themselves heard.” said Riordan. “Thank you for that! Becky and I will be involved at every step of the process, making sure this is a show we think you’ll be proud of.”
