Prime Video’s The Boys is adding 3 new cast members and returning a 4th.
Rosemarie DeWitt (Rachel Getting Married, Your Sister’s Sister) has been cast as Hughie’s (Jack Quaid) mother in the upcoming fourth season.
Returning for the new season is Simon Pegg reprising his role as Hughie’s father Hugh Campell. Pegg (Star Trek) appeared in 5 episodes in season 3 but is said to have an expanded role in the new season.
Two other new cast members are Elliot Knight and Rob Benedict (Supernatural) have been added as new character yet to be announced. Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Supernatural, The Walking Dead) was previously announced to have a recurring role.
Other things we know about season 4:
- Black Noir will return as a whole new character. Though he technically was killed in Season 3, showrunning Eric Kripke confirmed he will be back in the new season and played by the same actor, Nathan Mitchell. Apparently death has changed him though so expect some major shake ups.
- Carnage will be even crazier. Known for it’s gory, bloody scenes, season 4 is going to change things around a bit – though weather it will be more or less carnage has not been verified. VFX supervision Stephan Fleet tweeted that he can’t unsee what he saw during Season 4’s production which makes us expect something nasty in the works.
- Butcher (Karl Urban) is going to have to fix things in the last 12-18 months of his life. The effects of Temp V took their tole and at the end of Season 3, Butcher’s doctor gave him the grim prognosis. Season 4 will see him trying to make amends including mending things with Homelander’s son, Ryan, after blowing up at him.
- Starlight (Erin Moriarty) is going to fight her own way….by working with the Boys instead of trying to take them down. She threw away her uniform and walked away from the Seven at the end of Season 3 and we will see her figuring things out as she works towards real justice instead of the Seven’s version of it.
- Ryan gets caught between Homelander and Butcher. After Butcher’s outburst at the boy, Ryan has been bonding more with his biological father Homelander which might tip the balance of power in favor of the Seven if Butcher cannot make amends with the boy.
- Gen V will tie into Season 4. The Boys: Gen V spinoff will have major links that will affect Season 4. The series is set at a superhero college training new Supes and putting them to the test.
