Spider-Man: Brand New Day – Everything We Know About Tom Holland’s Next Marvel Movie

Tom Holland is suiting up again. The fourth Spider-Man movie starring Holland is officially titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and it’s swinging into theaters on July 31, 2026.

This announcement came during a pre-recorded video shared at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Holland called the film a “fresh start” for Peter Parker, and that makes sense given how Spider-Man: No Way Home ended—with Peter all alone, his identity wiped from everyone’s memory.

A New Web to Weave

The movie is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He’s stepping in with a promise to show fans a new side of Peter Parker—one that dives into territory we haven’t seen before.

Cretton’s involvement hints at a film that might feel a bit different from the last three. The first trilogy showed us a young Peter growing up with Tony Stark’s mentorship, struggling with identity, loss, and responsibility. Now, he’s truly on his own.

Who’s Coming Back?

Zendaya is returning as MJ, even though her character no longer remembers Peter. So, we’re likely in for some emotional distance and awkward reintroductions. Jacob Batalon is back too, playing Ned Leeds—Peter’s best friend, who also doesn’t know who Peter is anymore. That makes their dynamic all the more bittersweet.

New to the cast is Sadie Sink, best known from Stranger Things. Her role hasn’t been revealed yet, but fans are already buzzing with theories. Some say she could be playing Gwen Stacy or even a version of Spider-Woman.

What’s It About?

The title Brand New Day isn’t random—it comes from a comic book storyline back in 2008. In that arc, Peter makes a deal to save Aunt May’s life, but the cost is high: the world forgets he’s Spider-Man, and his marriage to Mary Jane is magically erased.

That storyline lines up well with where the movies left off. Peter is now totally unknown. No one remembers he’s Spider-Man. No one remembers him at all. He’s in a tiny apartment, sewing his own suit, and getting back to basics.

So the movie could explore what it means to be a hero when no one knows your name. When no one has your back. When you have to start over, completely alone.

When Does Filming Start?

Filming is scheduled for the summer of 2025 in the United Kingdom. That gives the team plenty of time to get things right for its 2026 release.

Marvel has been juggling a lot lately—between the multiverse chaos and new characters being introduced all over the place. So this new Spider-Man entry is a chance to tighten the focus. Back to street-level stakes. Back to Peter Parker, not world-ending portals.

A Turning Point

Spider-Man: Brand New Day feels like the start of something different for the character. Holland’s Peter has gone through the wringer. He’s fought aliens. He’s traveled through time. He’s watched everyone he loves forget him.

Now he gets a second chance. It’s not flashy. It’s not cosmic. It’s personal. And that’s what made Spider-Man stories special in the first place.

We’ll keep watching as details emerge. But for now, it looks like Spider-Man is swinging back to basics—and maybe that’s exactly what he needs.
