Vampire Diaries alum Paul Wesley has been added to the cast of season 2 of the upcoming Paramount+ series, Strange New Worlds as none other than James T. Kirk!
The series, which follows the adventures of Christopher Pike (Anson Mount), the first Captain of the Enterprise (played by Jeffrey Hunter in the original Trek pilot and the 2-part Menagerie episode of the Original series) and his crew. According to Trek lure, Kirk’s first command prior to the Enterprise was a “destroyer class ship” so the Enterprise may perhaps encounter this destroyer?
Strange New Worlds also stars Rebecca Romijn as Number One, Ethan Peck as Spock, Jess Bush as Christine Chapel, Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura, Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga, and Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh.
We won’t know how Kirk fits in until 2023 when season 2 airs. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 1 debuts on Paramount+ on May 5, 2022.
