Marvel announced March 26, 2025 that Avengers: Doomsday is now in production and gave us the full (maybe?) cast list. Watch their announcement video below.

​Marvel Studios is set to release Avengers: Doomsday on May 1, 2026. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, this film marks their return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after their work on Avengers: Endgame.​

The storyline details remain under wraps. However, it’s confirmed that Robert Downey Jr. will portray the iconic villain Doctor Victor Von Doom, a significant departure from his previous role as Tony Stark/Iron Man. The film is expected to explore the complexities of the multiverse, with heroes new and old uniting against a formidable threat.

The ensemble cast includes returning MCU actors given in the video announcement below. Of course, Marvel may have a surprise or two not listed, but it is interesting to see Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four characters including Channing Tatum as Gambit and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi officially bringing both into the fold.

Production has begun in London as of March 26, 2025. Fans eagerly anticipate how Avengers: Doomsday will set the stage for future MCU narratives, particularly with the introduction of Doctor Doom and the expanded multiverse.
