Alive, a CBS series inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, is currently under development. The show is a modern take of the classic Frankenstein tale in a cop setting.
Katrina Law from Arrow and Ryan Phillippe are set to star in the series from producer Jason Tracey of Elementary. The show will center on Mark Esher, a San Francisco homicide detective (Phillippe) mysteriously brought back to life after being killed in the line of duty. His wife Elizabeth (Law) soon realizes he isn’t the same person and they track down the man behind his resurrection: Dr. Victor Frankenstein to be played by Aaron Staton (Mad Men).
Elizabeth Lavenza, a pathologist/medical examiner, is stunned when her husband returns from the dead after an attack and fire at his home. While thrilled to have him back, he is haunted by the case he was working on before his death and know’s there is a secret behind his disappearance.
