Orichalucum Pictures is entering the world of VR with Ryte: The Eye of Atlantis giving players a chance to step back in time and live an adventure as a citizen of the mythical city.
Players will navigate thru the lost city based primarily on the descriptions by Plato where supernatural powers exist. From the trailer below, you will take over the body of an inhabitant of Atlantis solving puzzles and making decisions that cause changes in the storyline a bit like Assassins Creed’s Animus. They are creating a world to feel authentic with an emphasis on exploration rather than battle which will be a welcome change to me. The limits of VR processing power has kept most games so far available short and action-oriented, though as technology continues to improve such as the upcoming Quest 2, I for one hope this will change as exploration is one of my favorite things to do in games such as Second Life, Sansar, Assasins Creed Origins and Odyssey, and The Witcher 3.
Your decisions thru the game will change the story making it also one of the few multiple ending VR games I know of. You will be able to solve puzzles to unlock abilities such as telekinesis, meet oracles, clerics, take part in prison breaks, and battle giant centurions.
Ryte: The Eye of Atlantis will be available on both Oculus Quest and SteamVR in Winter 2020. I will definitely be streaming it with my Quest 2 on Scifispace VR once it is available.
