All the cast from the original are returning with Gambit and Beast rumored to be appearing in the sequel and it is expected for Magneto (Ian McKellan) to again be the villian.  Production starts April 2002 for a May 2003 release. The sequel will again be directed by Bryan Singer with a script by David Hayter.  The film is officially being referred to by 20th Century Fox as X², but the title is likely to change before release.

12/12/01: According to Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), some of his character’s dark side may be revealed int he sequel. There are 2 or 3 new characters coming to the film as well, though Jackman didn’t know who.
