That was the word during the X-Files 20th Anniversary panels at San Diego Comic Con this weekend, met with the expected boos by fans of course.
Both David Duchovny (Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Scully) were on hand coming out on a darkened stage with flash lights for the start of their panel. Show writer Vince Gilligan and creator Chris Carter were also there. They shared stories and favorite moments from the 9 seasons and 2 movies though were quick to say there would be no new TV series – not even a limited series as 24 is doing next year. Anderson is definitely not interested in doing another weekly series.
However, no one has seemed to totally rule out a third feature film with Anderson confirming she would be on board for that. Carter was a bit cagey on the subject saying mysteriously “We can get to it later.”
Duchovny and Anderson though were quick to say how much they loved and admired their characters on the show with Anderson proud of the strength of her character as a feminist role model.
